Sing and Sign is a wonderful program designed to allow you to communicate with your baby,bridging which can be an otherwise frustrating gap before speech develops.So from as young as 6 months old, you could fully understand your baby’s needs and wants, diminishing any misunderstanding!I offer classes in Epping which combine music and fun along with teaching you the tools you need to effectively sign with your baby.
I started my Sing & Sign journey with my son in 2019, he loved the songs, music, familiarity and repetition of the classes. His first sign at 14 months was 'Milk' and his signing vocabulary continued to develop through Stage 2 during the first lockdown. Being able to communicate with him during such a difficult and challenging time with signs really helped to alleviate a lot of frustration for us both. Now 4 and his spoken vocabulary is exceptional and this I attribute to Sing and Sign.I enjoyed the ethos behind baby signing so much that I decided to make it my day job.I have been a Sing & Sign teacher for 2 years and I absolutely love my job! It is such an amazing journey to experience with each child and parent, from when they are tiny and attending Babes, right through to when they graduate from Stage 2. It’s overwhelmingly rewarding as a teacher to see the wonders of baby signing, giving parents the keys to unlock their own children’s little worlds.We have a new addition to the Manning family, another little boy, just 11 months old, and he has recently begun his Sing and Sign journey having just finished his first term of Stage 1. It is such a joy to see his little face light up when I sing and sign with him. We have already begun to notice his reaction to signs such as 'milk', 'change nappy' and 'all done/gone' with huge grins and real belly laughs and even started to see him using signs of his own for 'more' and 'change nappy'!You can contact me by phone on 07758007036 or via email

My Classes
Sing and Sign is a programme that grows week-by-week with you and your child and is divided into 3 Stages:
Sing and Sign BABES - This is a brand new multi-sensory music programme for babies from birth to 6 months. Our aim is to help you build the framework for good communication with your baby. This can be booked as a 10 or 5 week term designed as a precursor to Stage 1 Sing and Sign.
Stage 1 - It is recommended that you and your baby attend two terms of Stage 1 classes in order to consolidate and learn a total of 120 signs. Babies learn through repetition so attending two terms helps you to establish good signing habits as well as letting you learn the lyrics of the songs written especially for the Sing and Sign programme. You will cover a different theme each week from the Basics to Bedtime routine; Bathtime, Going Out and exploring to Emotions and Being Helpful. This all comes with free membership to our Jessie Cat Club which will give you online access to lots of supporting resources, games and our award winning @Home videos.
Stage 2 –If you’ve enjoyed stage 1 and want to continue, you’ll be ready to join More Sing and Sign – Stage 2, offering a more mobile, physical class with another two curriculums of additional songs, signs and actions for older babies and toddlers, backed up by more online resources and Stage 2 @Home videos. This stage includes teaching colours, letters of the alphabet, opposites, good manners, foods and much more besides.
All classes last roughly 40-50 minutes, are very relaxed and great fun! Feel free to do whatever you feel comfortable with and don’t feel you have to keep your baby on your lap – let them roam if they want to. If a venue allows, we will provide Tea/Coffee and the chance to socialise at the end of the teaching session so you may want to allow an hour out of your day. If the room is not carpeted, we do have individual mats/rugs but please feel free to bring your own cushion to sit on if you’d prefer. Nappy changing and breast or bottle feeding during the session is fine, or you can do it away from the group if you’d prefer. Fell free to bring any drinks and small snacks your baby might need but we would ask that these be consumed outside of the teaching area to keep the space clear of mess and potential allogens. Be advised that baby changing facilities and kitchen facilities vary at each venue and are not always accessible if they’re adjacent to a room we’re not booked into.
Due to limited numbers per class you will need to book and pay prior to the term starting (early booking is recommended). Payments are taken at the time of booking via Stripe.
Some Mum’s like to familiarise themselves and their babies with some of the music and signs before term starts. Details of how to purchase our DVD and/or CD can be found on my booking form.

Venues
Fyfield, Theydon Bois and Epping
Fyfield Village Hall,
Sessions will take place in the Monika Couling Hall at the rear of the venue which has its own access at the end of the patio. There is a large carpark on site which is free to use. Public playground equipment can be found across the other side of the field. There are picnic tables on the patio which are free to use.
Theydon Bois Youth Centre, Theydon Bois Community and Youth Trust, Loughton Lane, Theydon Bois, Essex, CM16 7JY.
Limited free spaces available in onsite carpark. Local shops and pubs located on the other side of the green with a short walk to Theydon Bois station.
Jack Silley Pavilion, Stonards Park, Tidy's Lane, Epping, CM16 6SS
Julie's Café located round the back of the venue serving breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Stonards Park playground located opposite the café. Free parking available in the venue carpark with limited spaces and further free parking available adjacent to the playground. Sessions will be held in the Forest Room to the right as you enter the venue.
