A little bit about us:
Gillian used to be a Speech & Language Therapist so was very keen to sign with her son.
"I started signing at home and then found out about classes and discovered Sing and Sign which were just perfect. I loved the themes and the activities they did each week and the babies just loved the class. In fact I loved it so much I decided to teach my own classes!
Ewan's signing has definitely helped him. At 14 months he started putting 2 signs together to express his thoughts. It was great having an insight into what he was thinking. By 20/21 months he was saying lots and was using 4-5 word phrases.
Katie's signing is completely different to Ewan - she signs so much more and at 10 months had over 15 signs which she used on a daily basis. Interestingly by 14 months she too was putting 2 signs together eg Where's daddy, but she was also saying the words at the same time by this age so I'm really keen to see how she develops with her Speech and Langauge skills as Ewan's were so good! "
Jayne is a nurse and has signed with Lauren since she was 6 months old.
"I was really interested in signing so couldn't believe it when i discovered Sing and Sign was in the area when Lauren was a baby. We started classes and although after the first term Lauren hadn't signed back I knew she was taking it all in. During our second term Lauren started signing and soon we were having converstaions - it opened up a whole new world!"
We look forward to hearing from you!
COMMENTS FROM PARENTS WHO HAVE ATTENDED MY CLASSES |
It is lovely to find the uplifting atmosphere in your class. I did not think I would love this so much. Aya, mum to Ash, 6 months, first term
Just wanted to let you know that he's doing really well with his signing. It took a while though, he was about 8 or 9months when he first started using the more sign, it started off as quite a good more sign but he now claps his hands together when he wants more...can sometimes be quite tricky to know if he's just clapping or if he wants more!!! He also does the all done sign, birdie and just recently has started doing where and an attempt at daddy. I was pretty impressed with that one coz when his dad left the room he signed where and daddy!!! His first signing sentence! He loves watching the dvd and gets very excited when I put it on and sits and dances in front of the TV. So just wanted to say thanks for the classes, they were great fun and when Adam's a bit older we'll be back for stage 2! Clare, mum to Adam aged 11 months, first term
We definately want a place again as Elizabeth is coming on leaps and bounds. She's signing loads of things now especially 'more', 'home', 'dog', 'biscuit', 'please/thankyou' and 'yes'. She also signed 'giraffe' and 'swing' yesterday for the first time. Her language skills are improving rapidly too as she's saying the word as she signs it. Honestly Gillian I can't thank you and the Sing and Sign programme enough. I'm getting very few tempers now as she's not as frustrated and it has also made us that little bit closer as it's like our own secret language!!Andrea, mum to Elizabeth aged 19 months, first term

Does your child attend a nursery?
Sing and Sign now has an excellent Nursery Affiliation Programme which will train staff on their own premises at a time to suit all. We will teach staff a selection of signs, tailor made to the nursery's individual requirements and design an Individual Action Plan to inspire staff and make signing fun and easy to incorporate. Following training, the nursery will receive a Certificate of Sing and Sign Affiliation together with ongoing access to our signing resources and a complimentary package of products.
If your baby attends nursery or you know of a childcare facility that would be interested in receiving further information, please do pass our details on, or contact us at the number/email above.
