Hello,
My name is Tabatha Sandelands, franchisee and teamleader of Inverness, Ross-shire and now Morayshire due to the popularity. I started signing in 2008 when my daughter Macie -Rose was 7months old. I had just about given up when she started signing back to me (she was then 10 months)! I have two other children Lili-Jane {10 } and Liam {7} even though they didn't attend classes { only because I hadn't heard of Sing and Sign } they both have picked up all the signs which myself and Macie-Rose went on to learn during class. They were able to help Macie-Rose develop further, also it was great to see the big children communicate so well with her and it definitely helped to calm her frustration and tantrums.
David {husband} and myself noticed as Macie-Rose got older she gradually dropped her signs, as her speech developed and she now has an extensive oral vocab { which David initially had concerns about , however now he understands how wonderful it is }.
I have been a teacher for nearly two years, teaching classes around Inverness. I get so much pleasure from seeing the babies develop from 7 months- 2years, through the different stages up until their last stage 2 term. By the time they finish most know their colours and are starting on their phonics.
Sing and Sign has been phenomenally popular all over the UK (it has even branched out overseas) and I知 thrilled to be able to be able to bring classes to the highlands. I知 so confident that Sing and Sign will be one of the most rewarding things that you will do with your baby that I知 very happy to come and do a demonstration at coffee mornings, Mother and Baby Groups or wherever you attend a group that may be interested. If you need a flyer to put up on your notice board, please let me know!
It痴 a great opportunity to meet other parents and carers in the area and make new friends. Dads and grandparents are always welcome too!
