Hi my name is Josie! Baby signing has been such an incredible gift to me and my family, and I am so passionate about it, having reaped the benefits with my own 4 children.
The feeling you get when your baby signs to you to let you know what they want is unbelievable and the fact that they can communicate with you before they can speak is truly amazing!!

Which class should I attend?Sing and Sign Babes is a gentle music and sensory class with a strong emphasis on communication. Our classes are open to babies from birth or as soon as you feel you would like to get out with your baby and enjoy some music together. This lovely class explores themes such as eye contact, gesture and anticipation together with lots of cuddles, tickles and some simple signs. All building the framework for good communication and brought to you using our magic ingredient - music!
Sing and Sign Stage 1 is ideal for babies from 5 months old up to around 14 months old and their parent/carer. Themes include basic signs, nappies & bath time, emotions & bedtime. You'll learn over 100 signs related to your routines and also the sort of things your baby may be interested in, such as animals and vehicles.
Sing and Sign Stage 2 is great when your little one is 14+ months, moving about and probably starting to talk (although every baby is different, so there's no hard and fast rule!). Themes include weather, opposites, colours and the phonetic alphabet, together with simple counting songs, and of course, lots of fun!
Cost
The 10 week @HOME Stage 1 and 2 courses cost £50 per family (no extra charge for multiple birth families), and includes an annual subscription to the Jessie Cat club- a years access to our fantastic supporting resources.
The 10 week face to face stage 1 and 2 courses cost £80. This includes access to the @home content.
Our Babes classes run in 5 week courses and cost £40, and includes access to the Babes@home resources.
(There is no extra charge for multiple birth families.)
PLACES ARE RESERVED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. If classes have a low number of bookings at the start of term, they may be cancelled. We will let you know as soon as we can if this is the case by email.
TEACHERS
To help me teach all of these classes, I have a great team who are all experienced baby signers and are also very passionate about Sing and Sign. Let me introduce them:-
Josie has used baby signing with all 4 of her children and was amazed at the way it unlocked communication orior to speech. She loves being able to share this skill with other families and helping them benefit too.
Fleur did classes with both her boys for a number of terms and couldn't believe the amazing insight it gave her into their worlds at such a young age. She knew very quickly that this was a job she would love.
Mez has attended many many Sing and Sign classes with her 3 children over the years, and is now thrilled to be able to teach the classes herself, and support lots more families in their Sing and Sign journey.
Sarah came to Sing and Sign classes with her son last year and is loving being able to communicate with him using gestures at home, as well as teaching more families how to get the most of our communicating with their own little ones.
SING AND SIGN IN LOCAL NURSERIES
Does your child attend a nursery?
Sing and Sign now has an excellent Nursery Affiliation Programme which will train staff on their own premises at a time to suit all. We will teach staff a selection of signs, tailor made to the nursery's individual requirements and design an Individual Action Plan to inspire staff and make signing fun and easy to incorporate. Following training, the nursery will receive a Certificate of Sing and Sign Affiliation together with ongoing access to our signing resources and a complimentary package of products.
